I gotta admit I'm starting to feel some excitement for the upcoming season.
I got my confirmation from the SM100 people (although they also let me know I didn't put down an emergency contact).
This isn't going to be like last year.
No leaving the house to go on century rides by myself when I really don't want too,
no 7 lap marathons at the Rose.
No time pressure constraints or trying to compete with guys 10 years younger than me.
Lets make a prediction now, 14 hours. Not as good as my best but certainly not 15 1/2 hours.
I've got an appointment set up for next week for the 1st of 3 knee injections.
What ever happens, happens.
If they don't help at all, I'll still do what training I can and just ice up afterwards.
Now watch. Have way through the summer I'll probly snap my frame or something stupid.
I did look back a year ago to see what I was doing. It wasn't so bad. I'm not that far behind and I've got those "life miles" going for me.
I've been riding now for almost 7 years.
20 miles on the trainer last night while watching "25th hour".
Not a great movie for the trainer, but I am a fan of Ed Norton.
Weight, still the same.

Hell yes sir. Doing a roadie club ride this weekend. I'm gonna get dropped like a bad habit. 18+mph pace for 50 miles can you say shelled?
No weekend update. Slacker!
