Like alot of serious riders, I'm the "bike" freak at work.
I don't know how many times I've pulled up and co-workers have walked over and glanced in the back of my truck just to see what a $4000 bike looks like. I don't know how many times I hear "I thought you'd keep it cleaner."
A new co-worker is supposed to be bringing in an old mtb which she says is out rusting by her barn. She says I can have it if I want. Normally I just poo such things away (they usually turn out to be wallyworld bikes) but she said it was $800 when new. I told her to go ahead and bring it in. At the least I can throw it away for her, but I'm curious as to what it'll look like. $800, 10 years ago would buy a pretty decent bike (well decent for 10 years ago). If I wasn't working at the shop I wouldn't evan bother but if its a decent frame and the right size maybe I can get it working for my bro without too much cost.
My xl redline is just a little too large for him.
We''ll see.
