Winter Solstice! Who cares!

I feel ripped off.
I, like alot of people look foward to the winter soltice.
The shortest day of the year. It only gets better from this point foward.
Right.

Well being partial geek I looked up a sunrise-set website.

The shortest day of the year may be around Dec 21 but the day I care about was Dec 12. Thats when the sun actually starts to set later in the day. I don't care about the sunrise. I'm at work or on my way to work so who cares. What I care about is riding later after work.

Another little fun fact I discovered, in Tampa, today, the sun set 45 minutes later for them. I did not know this.

Another reason to move south. Not only is it warmer but you have more riding time after work.

You really want to know what sucks about 21 December? It's my birthday. That's right, the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year is my birthday. My Dad would make fun of me and say "It was a dark, dark day when James was born." How cruel is that? lol

The closer you are to the equator the less variation there is in day length throughout the year, hence Florida's later sunset. I did not know that about the sunsets getting later.
