The shepard still barks at me when I come in the house.
Not an angry bark.
It doesn't bother me yet.
We've gotten 2 pieces of advice.
1. Let the dog come to bed with us so it gets use to me.
I'd rather not.
She doesn't smell particularly nice and I don't wanna start a pattern
2. Smack her in the fore head with my fist.
I know all about the pack mentality of dogs and that they need to recognize who
the leader is, but I think that it might be a bit early for this.
So, which would you respond better to?

Dog biscuits, Tom, Dog biscuits! The way to a Shepherds heart is through the stomach! She's only 4 mos old and that's about the equivalent of a bratty 12 year old girl, developmentally. She'll grow out of it and probably turn out to be a really good dog!
Tried that.
Half the time she just sniffs and goes away.
Looks like I gotta break out the Nathans hot dogs.
That might just work!
