Just 99 miles to go

Why are they doing this to me?

A ride was advertised on my local bike club site. The MORE board.
Its going to be a casual pace. (Good)
Its going to be a Sunday morning.(Good)
Its going to be on some nice trails. (Good)
Its going to be at ELIZABETHS FURNACE. (Uh-oh).

For those of you that don't know. It was the ride there that screwed up my spring and summer riding.
EF was where I took a tumble and tore the ligament outta the knee that made me have surgery and kept me off the bike for 6 weeks and off the trails for over 2 months.

I wanna go anyways.
I'm a complete moron.

Evan though I want to, I'm going to pass on this one.
I'd like to say it was common sense that kicked in. I haven't evan been released by my doctor for sports yet. That means no running or jogging in competitive sports. I can't evan help the daughter with soccer practice yet.

Although I have all the reasons why I shouldn't go, the final factor was the look my wife gave me when I mentioned it to her. Lets just say it wasn't pretty. THAT was not the woman I married.

But she is right.

It was her who catered to me for those weeks while I was on crutches.
I guess she has some say in it.

I will be at the next one.

Hey Tommy,
I like your blog. I'm a refugee from Bob's Kneeboard.
I had to laugh when you said you put your old chain back on your bike. My husband put a new chain on his bike a few weeks ago and it sucked big time. Jumped out of all the gears. He took his old chain out of the trash cleaned it and threw it back on the bike with no problems. Now about that clicking I have the same problem on my bike. Replaced the alumminum chain ring bolts and it still clicks. I think it is also the bottom bracket.
Take it easy,
Kitty

Sorry theres not alot about the knee anymore. I'm about 5 1/2 months out and once I was able to start some decent biking, knee blogging took a back seat.

As for the chain, I got a new cassette and installed the new chain. No problems. I guess if I hadn't changed the chain it would of ended up ruining the chainrings. Oohh. big bucks.
